A daily menu with a choice of meals is available giving a wide and varied choice of all meals; This ensures that Service User choices, preferences and cultural needs are always promoted within Kingswood Home. All our food is home cooked and fresh fruit and vegetables are provided daily. The Chef liaises each day with Service Users and is always willing to meet any special requests.

We are able to cater for diabetic and special dietary requirements. Menus are designed around Service User input that is gained during the regular in House Resident’s Meetings.

Kingswood House has been awarded The Heartbeat Award for continued commitment to providing health- ier food choices in a healthier environment. In order to gain the award caterers must adopt healthy food preparation methods and offer healthy options on the menu. High standards of hygiene must also be maintained and the premises must be smoke free.

Food hygiene ratings are viewable on www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk. Kingswood Home has been accredited with 5 stars which is the maximum award for an excellent performance level.

The Chef provides Birthday cakes and is able to cater for small parties by prior arrangement.

Kingswood has a wide selection of accommodation and we try to help make each room to meet individual needs. Our accommodation facilities include:

• Comfortable rooms with flat screen digital TV/DVD player with a huge choice of freeview channels
• Call system in every room.
• Most rooms with en-suite facility, but every room does have a wash basin.
• Bath and shower facilities suitable for individuals' needs.
• Wheelchair access to all areas within the home and garden.
• Stair Lift access to 1st floor rooms.
• Private, restful gardens.
• Activities / Quiet room.
• Activities / Games / Puzzles / Dementia reminiscence days.
• Hairdressing & Chiropody (Done within the home).
• Family & friends days.
• General Practitioner Services.
• All our meals are cooked in-house by our highly trained cooks.
• Fire Safety, Fire door systems, smoke alarms, all staff trained in fire safety procedures.

The Staff

All staff at Kingswood Home receive mandatory training in Fire,

Manual Handling, Patient Hoist, Dementia, Health and Safety, Medication,

Safeguarding, Dols, Mental Capacity, Food Hygiene, Risk assessment,

Death and Dying, Diabetes, Diet and Nutrition, Equality and Diversity,

Basic  emergency and coping with aggression.

All care staff are encouraged to complete a NVQ or  now known as QCF in  Health and Social care and we are proud of our highly skilled and qualified team who hold an array of Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 NVQ Qualifications.
